‘I’ve been seeing you in the same jacket since the last year’ a colleague of mine jokes around in his new clothes after we come back from a 10 day long diwali vacation. Yes its the festival of lights celebrated across the indian subcontinent as a victory of good over evil (mind you, that doesnot about sum it up) . But the perils of the modern world are often disguised too well into the shape of something normal that we’re not even fighting them. We’re fighting other fights, sometimes things that dont really matter. But the real question is, can you really suggest that to a person without them shielding themselves so heavily with ‘everyone has personal opinions and priorities’ that they’re almost attacking you now. How dare you attack them with your opinion about something related to yourself? For example, we’re too busy trying to follow the everchanging trends and pretending to be cool, that we’re not concerned about the effects of fast fashion and consumerism on the environment. I mea
